The Almagor terror victims organization on Tuesday asked state prosecutors to appeal the sentence given to a terrorist who attempted to kidnap IDF soldiers. The terrorist received a sentence of 10 years in prison.

In a letter to the State Prosecutor’s Office, Almagor said that “kidnapping is among the worst crimes, and the sentence in this case does not reflect the severity of the crime. It provides a message that encourages terror groups to try and kidnap more soldiers. The court is mistaken in its reasoning that a lighter sentence was called for, because the kidnapping was unsuccessful, due to the alertness of soldiers on that day.”
