The Almagor terror victims group warned Monday that an attack on an IDF soldier earlier in the day resulted from the removal of checkpoints near Jericho. The soldier was stabbed and moderately wounded at the Almog checkpoint near the Dead Sea.

Almagor protested the removal of checkpoints near Jericho several weeks ago, warning that free traffic in the area would result in area roads becoming a de-facto part of nearby Palestinian Authority-controlled territories. The checkpoints were removed as a “good-will gesture” to the PA.
